Because The Plan Never Had Rails To Begin With

Eyo!
This post is super late, and I'm so sorry about that. My editing brain ran away with most of my sanity (or lack thereof) and it's taken all spring to get it back, but I AM back, with news of the world. (Or, at least, news of my newly adopted jalapeno plant.)
Blogging
Welp, that didn't go as planned.
Suffice it to say that I had to dive deep, deep, deep into my Manuscript Revision 'box', far enough that it became impossible to hop over into the Blog box. I never planned to neglect you here, but I was hoping to actually have some news for my next post. Which I do!
Writing
As of Monday, I've finally finished revising the story I started editing in February. (Gee, that wasn't so hard.)
Now it's on to line editing, which is more my strong suit -- but can be harder to do on my own work. Basically, what I'll be looking for is passive voice, shallow point of view, spelling and grammar mistakes, and 'filler' words that bog down the prose, all on a sentence-by-sentence level. Necessary but tedious work, which is why I'll also be revising a couple of other stories and revisiting a first-draft project.
Other Info That No One Asked For
I DID adopt a jalapeno plant, for anyone who's curious. I figure if I can at least keep that alive, I can try some other peppers in the fall or next spring. (Peppers like dry weather, right?)
If you'd like to know more about line editing and my thoughts on the subject, head over to this post where I discuss editing as a whole and break it down into more manageable steps.

Thank you so much for your support, my friend. This community wouldn't exist without you.
Onward!
