Because Revisions Are Hard

Guten tag, my friend!
Holy Week is here, which means it is officially spring... which means allergy season is coming... which means it's time to clean out my closet.
Writing
I'm still editing my debut manuscript, but I've passed the midpoint now, so I hold out hope that the rest will mostly be downhill - in a good way, of course. Both my main characters' internal conflict kind of fades out of existence in the second half, which will need fixing of course, but at least I know what to work on.
Once I get to the end, I'll go back to the beginning and start line-editing. Yeeeeee
Most of my focus has been on editing, and now some spring cleaning, so there's not much to report in the blogging realm this month . . . except that my plan is, until I wrap up this round of edits, to post here once a month regarding my progress and unrelated misadventures.
Farm Life
I have begun knitting a new sweater, huzzah! I'm spinning the yarn as I go to make sure I have what I need and no more. There's nothing worse than a half-used ball of yarn that can't be made into anything else.
My fellow Coloradans know that spring here is more of a nasty argument between winter and summer, occasionally punctuated by dust storms, freezing rain, or half-formed tornadoes. That said, I don't think I've ever looked forward to spring as much as I have this year. Perhaps it has something to do with knowing that every day puts a little more distance between us and the deeply uncomfortable 2024 my family experienced.
On the other hand, maybe it's more to do with the fact that, although hay fever is a constant threat, I have a great many plans to do some camping and finally -- FINALLY -- put together a backpacking kit for the hikes I daydream about.
The cats are prowling again, but our remaining chickens go on unscathed.
Conclusion
I have a new book recommendation in the works, but for now, I hope you enjoy your Easter weekend and the coming of spring -- whatever that may look like. Here's to the first dirtbike events and budding apple trees.
Onward, and Happy Easter!
Lydia
